Position Description

  • Builds out capabilities and processes within CSBD to gather, synthesize, and disseminate market & competitive intelligence
  • Works across the organization to connect with other pockets of market & competitive intelligence to facilitate exchange of information, ideas, and insights
  • Develops point-of-view reports on select healthcare stakeholder groups and the implications of their strategies for McKesson
  • Identifies, scopes and manages projects end-to-end; maintains responsibility for deliverables and timelines, shifting priorities as needed; manages stakeholder relationships and expectations
  • Develops and manages a network of contacts that can provide unique access, perspectives, insights on healthcare industry activities
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company's products, competition, and broader market dynamics that frame the business context both present and over the next decade
  • Facilitates market disruption conversations and workshops across the CSBD team through structured hypotheses, detailed analyses, and synthesized insights leading to recommendations to senior management
  • Drives development of executive engagement material for the annual strategic planning cycle
  • Builds trust and productive relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization
  • Influences and gains acceptance of others to one’s ideas through effective communication, relevant and insightful analyses, and creative thinking
  • Estimated: 70% of time will be dedicated to competitive and market intelligence, and 30% supporting other Enterprise Strategy initiatives (e.g., material development for executive and Board of Director strategy meetings.)

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years healthcare experience, preferably strategy and / or market intelligence

Critical Skills

  • Highly prefer candidates with prior management consulting experience with experience in managing complex healthcare-related projects, or candidates from a healthcare organization with a successful track record in strategy or competitive / market intelligence
  • Healthcare Knowledge: broad knowledge of stakeholders, trends, economic drivers and policy across healthcare – with specific focus on biopharma, biopharma services, payers & risk bearers, and digital health
  • Communications Skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and proposals persuasively; excellent written communication skills to convey complex ideas via Word and PowerPoint
  • Strategic Thinking: evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities
  • Analytical Rigor: ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations
  • Financial Acumen: ability to understand and interpret financial statements of competitors to derive intelligence and insights

Education

  •  4-year Bachelor's degree in business or finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  •  MBA preferred

Travel

  • Occasional travel, around 20%
