Title: SAP Development & Data Manager

Location: Philadelphia, PA or Cleveland, OH (Position will remain remote for foreseeable future)

Compensation Range: $150k-$170k/annually (plus 25% potential bonus)

Job Summary:

The SAP Development and Data Manager is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the ABAP Development and Data teams by planning, coordinating, and supervising all activities related to the design, development, and implementation using ABAP and other technologies. The Development Manager has the overall responsibility to collaborate with the Management, Business Leaders, Project Leadership and others to ensure the solution is right for the business. He or she will be responsible for coordinating with developers from the internal IT Team as well as external consultants and business users. In addition, the manager will be responsible for coaching and mentoring team members to meet both their career goals and organizational goals, talent acquisition and talent management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide necessary technical oversight, design, architecture and development review to deliver against the IT and business roadmap
  • Provides leadership, mentoring, and coaching to ABAP developers, architects, and data team members • Collaborates with functional (product) and project teams to understand needs and enable them utilizing SAP delivered solutions and/or customizations
  • Participates in vendor evaluations/demonstrations, discovery sessions for proposed projects, and blueprint/design sessions for approved projects
  • Review enhancements and projects workload and identify resource requirements • Work with 3rd party vendors to procure ABAP Development and SAP Data resources
  • Play a key role in SAP related work streams associated with conversion and acquisition initiatives • Works with vendors and partners for the successful implementation of critical platforms
  • Mentor and coach team members to meet their career goals and organizational goals • Perform performance appraisals and create development and succession plans
  • Prepare team budget and monitor
  • Prepare status and forecast/backlog reports
  • Create processes, protocols, and standards for ABAP development
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other relevant area Required Length & Type of Experience:
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience with SAP
  • Minimum of 10 years SAP ABAP Development experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Team Lead / Manager role managing a team of developers with ABAP experience
  • Led a team through 2 or more full-cycle ERP implementations
  • Minimum of 4 years of FRICEW development, analysis, and estimations experience
  • Experience with SAP Basis, SAP Netweaver and Oracle preferred
  • Experience with SAP S/4 HANA and development knowledge in S/4 HANA and Fiori is highly preferred
  • Experience in Data Conversion, ETL processes and procedures
  • Experience in handling system performance challenges
  • Experience working with software vendors and consulting firms Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Extensive understanding of SAP ERP functional areas and configuration
  • Knowledge of ECC, Business Intelligence, Business Objects, EDI, API Integration Platforms, Marketing and eCommerce Platforms
  • Ability to manage all facets of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Ability to manage optimized internal and external onsite - offshore consulting resource model
  • Resource planning, leveling, and forecasting
  • Mentoring, talent management, talent acquisition, performance evaluation
  • Gas Industry experience is a plus
