Job Description

Overview

Our State Government Practice Group is seeking an IT Project Manager to join our Finance and Administration Practice. As an IT Project Manager you will work with client and vendor teams on various software related projects such as software analysis/planning/procurement/implementation or Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V). This position may sit remotely or in our Portland, ME headquarters. You will report to senior management within our Finance and Administration Practice.

 

Travel Expectations: Although BerryDunn has limited consultant travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we anticipate at least 35% travel to client sites in the future to support projects.

Responsibilities

You Will:

  • Supervise software analysis (including market research, return on investment analysis, and client current/future/gap analysis) and planning/procurement (including requirements and RFP development) projects, which includes developing/tailoring/managing project plans, building/managing/coordinating project teams, engaging with client stakeholders, and developing detailed reports/documents and reporting them out to client project teams and executive leadership.
  • Supervise the full implementation life cycle of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software on behalf of clients, including:
    • Providing direction to and managing clients’ team members and liaising between the clients’ business and IT/project stakeholders and managing system implementation/integration vendors
    • Coordinating clients tasks across multiple workstreams, driving action items and decisions to resolution, and managing/updating project plans on a regular basis, for all client-owned tasks
    • Identify and report on project risks to client and vendor staff, and coordinate the resolution/mitigation of identified risks
    • Build User Acceptance Testing plan and scripts, provide oversight of client testing, conduct analysis of testing results for executive reporting.
  • Supervise point-in-time and/or full-time IV&V efforts for full implementation life cycle of COTS software which includes developing/tailoring/managing IV&V plans, building/managing/coordinating IV&V teams, engaging with client/vendor stakeholders, and developing detailed IV&V reports at various intervals and reporting them out to client project teams and executive leadership.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in managing at least two large, complex, multi-year software implementation and/or IV&V projects
  • Knowledge of quality assurance/control procedures and demonstrated proactive problem management skills
  • Excellent written communication skills including documenting complex issues succinctly and logically as well presenting complex issues to a variety of audiences
