The Master Data Governance and Maintenance Manager is responsible for enabling the business strategy by creating, maintaining, and monitoring high-quality, reliable master data. The responsibility is to develop and establish an MDM vision and a culture where master data is implicitly trusted to execute business transactions, support sound decision-making, and operational excellence.

The Data Governance Manager will lead and manage data governance activities for Customer and Material Master and will have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets.

The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards, and practices, both at the department and Business and Functional areas level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, and protection to meet overall business needs.

The Data Governance Manager serves as a point of escalation for governance, data quality, and protection issues. The position will work closely with Business and Functional area leadership to improve the Data quality and value of core data assets, respond to regulatory protection requirements, and support the strategic needs of the businesses.

 

Principal Responsibilities

  • The Master Data governance is responsible for defining policies and processes that control how data is managed in the organization. Data governance aims to ensure that data is managed, secure, accurate, audited, and documented. Ensures the integrity of the system data in the core systems: SAP, SFDC, and Gold, along with downstream systems that consume this data.
  • Together with the Business Strategy, the Master Data Governance manager helps  to transform the businesses by architecting organizational intelligence programs and differentiated strategies to improve Customer Experience and internal processes efficiencies.
  • The role will establish and supports multi-domain MDM Governance processes to ensure the accuracy and completeness of Salesforce, SAP, and other internal ERP systems data. Assure Data Architecture to define where the data needs to be stored and how to integrate with other System data needs. Develops and requests approval of cleansing data strategy.
  • This role is responsible for developing strategies and implementing data rules, streamlining data processes, define a standard master data dictionary.
  • Responsible for maintaining data trust by establishing trust in master data assets through ongoing stewardship, oversight​, and accessibility. This role will provide timely and secure master data to support business transactions and decisions and data compliance by maintaining master data across its lifecycle in alignment with business processes, corporate policies, regulations, and laws.
  • The role is also responsible for raising improvement opportunities and preparing User Requirement Specification (URS) related to system enhancements, automation, and new Data structure and data integration to improve data quality and reduce manual data entry errors​. Conducts regular consultations with other functions to evaluate Data needs and recommend improvement projects. The MD Governance Manager leverages the power of data, analytics, robotics, science and cognitive technologies to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, generate insights, and inform decision-making.
  • Manage the Data Governance and Master Data Maintenance team providing strategy, guidance, coaching, and performance controls. Approve Data Quality Management: coaching and controls reports to empower the field to maintain accurate/current data in SFDC and SAP.
  • ​Manage MDM projects for data efficiency by minimizing master data management costs, implementing automation, and digitalizing the processes. Manages a large and complex portfolio of projects with master data implications ensuring that priorities are defined, and deadlines are achieved.

 

Required Education & Skills

  • Type of Degree 1 * (At Lleast 1) - Bachelor Degree
  • Discipline 1 * (At least 1) - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or IT related field
  • Type of Degree 2 - Masters Degree
  • Discipline 2 - Computer Science
  • Type of Experience 1 * (At Least 1) - SFDC and SAP Master Data Governance & Maintenance
  • Years of Experience 1 * (At least 1) - Minimum 15 years

 

Required Skills & Qualifications *

  • 10+ years proven and progressive experience in Data Governance and Data Maintenance in Customer and Material Master
  • Strong background in relational databases with special interest in Salesforce, SAP, and Oracle
  • Expertise and ability to learn new data analytics and ETL tools such as SQL, Winshuttle, SAP Cloud Analytics
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Detailed analytical thinking to evaluate data, identify issues, and implement solutions
  • Expertise in managing large data volumes and developing automated processes to facilitate routine activities
  • Expert competency in at least one SAP Master Data Object; Customer, Material, Vendor including business knowledge of how data is consumed, and good knowledge of Salesforce CRM is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain business processes and how data affects the success
  • Proven project management skills from idea inception through implementation to ensure sustainability
  • Able to transform raw data into information for strategic decisions
  • Develop data strategy to “delight the customer” (internal and external)
  • Able to effectively manage a team of people across complex demands while growing and enabling personnel
